Ergo are concerned about the safety of our children and are always looking for ways to reduce the impact of our products on the environment. Organic cotton is produced without the use of harsh chemicals. The textile industry uses chemicals that are problematic to human health and wildlife.
Cotton that is grown in conventional ways is compromised and weakened by the chemicals used in the growing, processing and dying of cotton. All these things break down the fiber and create a weaker, inferior cotton. That is why you get a softer, stronger, better fabric when it is grown and processed organically.
The fabric used in our 100% Certified Organic Cotton is certified by the SKAL International Inspection Organization for Organic Product Method, which is based in the Netherlands. It is dyed with an environmentally sound and sensitive hi tech cobalt formula from a German manufacturer that is 90% colorfast. The denim is medium weight, pre-washed and is soft to the touch.
